Knowing God Through His Word

One of the most effective ways to know God is through his word. Our words, along with our actions are a source in which bonding occurs in a relationship. We share who we are, learn about others, and express our feelings through dialogue. God's word is no different. The Bible is our blueprint to discover who God is and to learn about his character, promises, and provisions.

When you read the Bible, I want you to remember that it encompasses the very breath of God; read it as if he is speaking to you face to face. It is applicable to minister to you, guide you, impart wisdom, increase your faith, inspire you, sharpen your vision, heal you, prune away unfruitfulness, discipline you, purge away sin, and remind you of his boundless and limitless love for you.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMP) - "All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work."
