Chasing After Charming, How the Search for Approval Bewitched My Soul, is a narrative nonfiction of Lisa’s ugly truth as she turned her back on God, and entered into a relationship with the world. This forbidden fairy tale was consummated in deception causing Lisa to disregard her Christian upbringing. She willingly chose to forego her relationship with God in exchange for a lousy, unsatisfying cup of the world’s approval. This only satiated Lisa temporarily, as the search to be beauty in the eyes of her beholder, the world intensified. 
 
It all started by casually going to happy hour with co-workers and friends, but eventually led to closing the bars down.  This carousing environment, in addition to her unmet need for approval, influenced Lisa to do things she would not normally do; binge drinking and sleeping around  are now condoned as acceptable behavior. Nothing was off limits as she searched for love and approval in the arms and beds of men.  Please do not be mistaken; this is not just about chasing men, but about the chase of anything and everything other than God.
 
Bewitched from the chase, she peers at the shattered pieces of her heart that lie broken on the pathway of life behind her. She has finally run out of excuses and people to blame forcing her to address all the twisted truth  she fell prey too.
