Soul...WAKE-UP

It is a daily struggle to drown out the clattering sound of busy and avoid the magnetic lures which can easily rock my soul to sleep. I feel like Jesus would call me out like He did the disciples when He returned from praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. (Matthew 26:40-41) Lisa, wake up – you’re dozing off eyes wide open. I need to recharge, reconnect.

There are times I have caught myself going through the motions; I went to church – check, read my bible, and prayed – check, check. But in essence, I didn’t connect with God. I don’t want my relationship with Him to be based on a religious checklist. I want to know Him in His fullness; not know of Him.

There is a big difference in knowing Jesus versus knowing of Him. I know my kids (believe – I know them) and I know of some movie stars or, at least, what I hear from the tabloids and media, but I don’t really know these stars on a personal level.

Do I know Him or know of Him?
